Sunday

Today we are heading back and we decided to take the early boat. There is a new timetable and now there are actually two departures so we can choose!? It's absolutely amazing. And it also leaves earlier on friday's. And now one can go every weekend as well. Summer is here! We also had some sun while waiting outside the old school house. Then I meet Martin in Reine and had a little chat before I had to rush off since I was going back with KA.

Stuvdalstinden

Sebastian finds danish things...
Nature growing inside...
So much trash to be found...
Gloomy day.
And windy.
The sauna.
Me and Kjell Arne
Per collecting wood
Television screen?
Heading up in the clouds.
Here we passed the peak already.
Trying to follow the ridge...
A bit further then it got steep.
Evening by the old house.
We slept in and had a long breakfast with lots of coffee. Then we just wandered around to explore since not everyone has been here before we had to show them what was there to see while waiting for the clouds to lift...which they never did so we just headed up anyway to the summit of Stuvdalstind. Then we followed the ridge as far as possible into the clouds. Then we turned around and went down for some dinner, relaxing and fire.

Heading west

Finally got my own buff.
The boat leaves.

This weekend I had this hike with DNT Fjellsport Lofoten. This time we went to the hidden valley. Me and Kjell Arne went to Reine earlier so we could have pizza and beer at the Lantern. Ole came by to say hello. Then came the others and we got on the boat. This hike took us 3.5 hours so we arrived at 00.30 to set up tents and make a fire. I went to sleep at 03.00 and by then I was pretty tired. But you seem to forget about time in this period of midnight sun. I also posted a card to Håkon's parent's, since it is now almost on the day three years ago since the accident and I just wanted to say that I think about them.

Unexpected basecamp

Today we are going up Håen and following the ridge to Hornet. Due to changing weather forecast we decided to take down the camp and try to find a room for the night. The winds will increase tonight to 16 or more so I might feel a bit unsecure in my tent. (There was only one ferry today but this one goes directly to Bodø and doesn't stop in Moskenes.) But first we went up to Håen and followed the ridge to Hornet, then we went down and found some kind of camp in a small wood with rabbits that looked like they were tame? Maybe this is Alice's Wonderland? We would of course be sheltered here but decided to go to "Gamle Prestegården". It was like coming inside someones's home. We knocked on the kitchen door and she said there were no rooms available. There were three other places but all seemed to be fully booked except Værøy Brygge which was way too expensive anyway. Then I remembered that the waiting room was unlocked last time I was here. So we decided this would be our home for the night. The evening was amazing with the sun warming us as we sat outside in the harbour cooking dinner and drinking beer. We went for a short late night hike before we went to bed. Tomorrow we'll take the ferry back to Moskenes.

The next morning the winds were so strong it was hard to stand straight and keep your balance. We had breakfast indoors. We also called the ferry to make sure it wouldn't be canceled. We were lucky and got on the boat back home again.

Following the footprints of Magda

Nordlandshagen.
The winding path.
Down to the rocky beach.
Towards Mostad.
Part of the old road.
The narrow section starts here.
Mostad.
One of the old houses.
Another old house in need of love.
Second floor...
Heading back.
The old church from Kabelvåg.
It was a windy morning We had breakfast outside. We didn't have much water left since the service house was locked which I didn't expect. We packed everything and hiked to Mostad. It took us three hours. As we reached there we wanted to fill water in the well, but to our surprise the well seemed to be dry? There were three people renovating an old building. So I talked to one of them who's name was Tor and he was really nice and let us have som of his water brought by boat. I took 5 dl but now we decided it was no good idea go hiking those two peaks and to set camp for the night was now out of the question. We had some food and water then we returned to start about three hours later. We filled water at the shop and then went to Sørlandshagen where we set camp for the night. It was yet another windy evening. But we made a fire and cooked some foods on the rocky beach. I attached my tent with a lot of heavy stones to stand against the wind.
