Happy new outdoor year

 

I left work at 12 and we drove away from Lofoten, bad weather and lack of snow. We had some trouble finding the hut in the dark even though it was close to the road. Happy new year to all of you out there!

Time for a short ski tour.

It's a lot of snow.

And a lot of wind.

Perfect day to try my new wind sack.

Today there was a lot of wind so we just went for a short trip staying pretty close to the hut. We tried the wind sack and it seems really good. I think it can be very useful this winter. Then we went back to the hut. Melting snow and made dinner.

It was perfect conditions today. It was really fun to try the sledge. It took us about 6 hours to Gaskashytte. The old hut was the cosiest one so we chose that one. It was almost as coming into someones home. In the new hut were at least 17 santas. And someone had left us gingerbread cookies!

Weather forecast in Lofoten was getting really rough with winds at 19-20 m/s and a lot of rain so we activated plan B and borrowed a sledge from Gyda. Wednesday we were packing for the weekend. We had two quiet days in the reception me and Janne the day before and me and Mona on xmas day. But at 12 o'clock sharp I went to change, then Ulf picked me up and we drove to Altevatnet in Troms.   We skied about 200 meters to Altevasshytta where we stayed the night.

Rain and wind so we went for a wet and windy hike to Småtindan and Helligberget.
