Fire by the sea

Days are getting longer and it's lovely, today we made a fire after work. There's so much driftwood lying around anyway.

We took a walk in our neighbourhood, looking at some possible climbing projects for later this spring.

Windy saturday

Weather was quite bad this weekend so we were inside practising compainion rescue, in this picture how to stabilize a patient / climbing partner. Later in the evening Tommy came over to Hattvika and we had some dinner and wine and he stayed over.

Today we took the skis to the gully below todays project. It was a long approach but weather was fantastic and the sun was shining as we reached the gully. It was a long and strenous walk up there since the snow was quite loose and deep. We came up just in time for sunset and managed to get safe down back the gully before we still had a little light. Then we put on our headlamps and tried to ski down. Since I am still a beginner I fell a couple of times and cursed my backpack every time, then when I almost got through the worst part my headlamp went out. Anyway we finally got back to the car after maybe 11 hours and I was totally worn out.

Advanced first aid

 

We did this all weekend and I was approved for 1 of 5 exercises. The other 4 will be in two weeks when we have part two of this course.

Skiing with Gyda

Today after work I went skiing with Gyda to "gammen" (a kind of simple sami mud hut) we had something to eat and met 4 young kids that were staying the night. So good to get out after a stressful day at work. And tomorrow evening starts the advanced first aid course by The Red Cross.

Just another monday

I have some lovely colleagues at work. Today I had pizza with a friend in Leknes then I went home and it was snowing.
