At the train station. See that drunken guy?

Olga with family.
Valga.
Today we came to Cesis. It started raining. We had a fantastic lunch and then I went to look at the castle in Cesis while Annika was writing postcards. Then we went to the train station to wait for the train to Valga. On the train we met Olga and her family. She was happy to speak english and she was also quite drunk. We arrived late to Valga which was on the estonian side. The tourist information in Cesis told us about a lake where we could camp so we had to cycle back over the border to Latvia. It took us quite long to find that lake but finally we did. The road out there was pitch dark. When we came to the lake there was a car parked but it was dark so we didn't think anyone was in it. We went to look for a good tent spot, then suddenly the car turns on the lights but stays there. We got scared and turned off dynamos and headlamps. Then the car drives around the lake really slow two times. We took off our wests not to be seen and put down the bikes in the forest. It started raining and we were hungry so we just had some bread and sat there in the dark until they went away. Then we found a spot, we decided to sleep in the same tent tonight and Annika's tent is green so not easily spotted. When the tent was up then a car came again playing really loud music and some drunken people came out on the beach. The light from the car was almost shining on our tent through the forest and we were so scared. It was like a bad horror movie. It's even worse since you don't understand the language. They stayed long so we decided to move the tent just to hide a bit more. Then came another car riding really slow around the lake and stopped on the other side of us, really close and it was all dark and silent. Just the drunken people on the beach could be heard. We were afraid to go inside the tent this night. We didn't know what to do. Then the second car started and went away but still drove really slow. It started raining heavily and then the other car left. Now we went inside but we were still worried but hoping the rain would continue than they probably wouldn't come back. We did hear the car again but then I must have fallen to sleep even if I tried to stay awake.

*Cemetery pictures; Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof. Victims from the worldwar.

* It's ruins are some of the most impressive castle ruins in the Baltic states. German crusaders known as "The Livonian brothers of the Sword" began constructing of the castle in 1209.
