Heading for Kvalvika

Today we intended a hike to Kvalvika. We left pretty late I think around 11 and on our way we found out that the road we were going was split in two due to a huge block of stone that detached from the mountain!! But we are lucky because this happened at 7 am and by this time they started filling the gap with gravel so the road will be open again soon. After some waiting in the line of cars we could continue driving to Kvalvika. The others ran along and I walked with my dad. I think I might overrated his fitness because this was hard for him so we only went up to the pass where he could see just a little bit of the beach. We sat there and enjoyed our packed lunch while the others where down looking for the cottage.

It's a little ironic because today is the day when 5000 tourists arrive on cruiseships to the harbour at Leknes. Most of them were supposed to go by bus to Å, Reine, Ramberg and Nusfjord. But I heard they were shipped to Haukland, Ballstad (!) and Stamsund. I'm really glad that was not where we were going today.

Waiting for the road to open.
