We were invited to Merete (she has a house in Reine) so we left from Ballstad today. We had a cup of tea while waiting for Tommy and Cody. Weather was a bit gloomy today with some rain but we just made a small hike to check out the steps to Reinebringen that were made by sherpas this autumn. They made 250 steps and then I think there was not enough money...but they estimated that it would be necessary with 750 steps so I guess they will continue. For those of you not familiar I can tell that Reinebringen is the most popular hike in Reine (maybe all of Lofoten) probably because it's close to the road and has a wonderful view over Reine and the fjords. Since we have so many tourists (too many?) the trail has become really worn. Anyway we are here to join a charity run from Å to Reine which is approximately 10 km. All the money goes to the children's cancer foundation. You can also walk or go by bike. I didn't know bike was an option, then it would certainly be my first choice but maybe next year. We had sushi for lunch then Tommy drove us to Å and we registered for the race. I won 6 weeks yoga! Then we went back to the house, had a shower and made dinner. Merete (no 2) and Gunnar came over to have dinner with us and then we went to the after race party in Sørvågen at Anne Maren. There was a liveband playing. We went home with the taxi at 02 am.
