Back at Å and later on we went to look around closer at Tind and Sørvågen. It was supposed to be a bolted crag here but we didn't know where and couldn't find it this time. But we found interesting falling apart houses and some other things...

Ågvatnet

Finally it is friday and we are going for a hike! We went to Å and it kept raining almost the entire evening. But when we reached Ågdalen it finally stopped and we pitched our tent. The next day we went up the snow chute next to Mannen. There had been an avalanche before but we kept close to the rock and got up to the ridge between Mannen and Gjerdtindan. Then it was time for crampons heading up Mannen. It was so beautiful up there since you could see down to Ånstad on the left, Refsvika to the right and the outermost part of Lofoten, also Mosken and Værøy. Amazing!

Gardening

Today when I came home Anne Marie was outside with Viola and Jørgen. I started my own little gardening project today. Weather was really nice and springlike this friday afternoon. We had a beer outside and fixed the prayer flags, now they are hanging really nice. I want my backyard to have a touch of  "basecamp in Nepal feeling". Tomorrow I'll have guests over for dinner!

Life goes on even with a flat tire

Yesterday we had annual meeting for Vestlofoten climbing club, me and Kjell Arne were elected to the board! Today I went to Leknes for some groceries and finally I was able to send a recommended letter with all documents for the visa application. Since I am swedish and applying at the russian embassy in Norway I also had to send a certificate of residence. My winter bike is at service and I had one borrowed bike with thin tires and halfway home I got a puncture so I had to walk. But lucky me, after a while Erik turned up and offered me a lift to Hattvika. And in two weeks the three expedition members from south will come and visit. I am so looking forward to it!

In two months I'll be here again!

Rainy day at the airport.

Last transfer in Bodø, this is our flight.

Days were passing so fast, meeting friends and family. Suddenly it was time to head home again. Missed my train in Helsingør which made me crazy late for the first flight in Copenhagen. I ran for my life and came 5 minutes before takeoff but luckily (?) the plane was 10 minutes late or I would never have made it. In Oslo I had to do it all over again, pick up luggage, customs, check in and before security realizing that I would not make it so they rebooked my remaining flights. But anyway now I could lower my shoulders and I got a food coupon for 100 NOK so I bought some food and a large beer. My neighbour Anne Marie picked me up in Leknes.

Lofoten was all grey and rainy...but still it's home and I love it for all the contrasts.
