Ballangen

Yesterday after work, we left Lofoten and drove to Evenes airport to pick up Anne Marit. Her skis were not on the same plane but will arrive a day later. Then we continued to Ballangen where we arrived around 10 pm to check in to our cabin which was really cozy. We looked for a good hike / ski tour and finally we went up Mulbukttind. As we arrived at Stetind Hotel Martin and Sigvald had already checked in, coming from the south.

It was snowing today. We headed up Ryten. We met some tourists who where wishing us good luck?!? Visibility was not good but cleared up just a little bit when above Kvalvika and later as we came down. We also checked out Fredvanghytta which is quite well hidden up there but looks really cozy.

The plan was to pick up the key in Ramberg for Selfjordhytta annex but as we arrived we were told it was closed since a swiss couple stayed there and apparently the door was blown away!!!??? So we tried to call the guy with key to Charlystua but he didn't answer so we ended up staying at Lydersen Rorbuer in Fredvang. Janett did not go all the way up since it was a bit steep for her and also she had the dog, so I gave her the wind sack and they were waiting for us to come down again. Then we went to Lydersen and he had left the door open. We are all alone here tonight. After we all had a nice hot shower we were cooking and the fire alarm started as we were frying mushrooms...but we got it under control.

Today I went for a short hike with Kjell Are, it was very windy. Then Janne came to visit and then Tommy came to visit later. It was a good day.

Unexpected visit in the sun

 

 

 

Yesterday I did my surgery which I worried a lot about but it all went well. Beate gave me a ride to the hospital and then Hanne Lill gave me a ride home in the afternoon. Today I am home resting, I am supposed to take it easy and mostly lying on the couch. Tina came over with croissants at noon so I made coffee and we sat outside in the sun. Then we had a look around Hattvika Lodge on the other side. Funny to see your house from the other side! We also went to Barth since she had never been there. I was looking at skis, soon I'll have to buy my own and it's gonna be damn expensive...
