Today we went on a short skiing trip. It was freaking cold and the conditions were not so good, as we got higher to the summit there was drifting snow which is uneven, partly hard and partly soft. But still it was good to get out!

Today I went skiing with Claudia and then we had practice with Red Cross (Vestvågøy Hjelpekorps)

We practised follow the scooter on skis (which I have never done before) and of course I fell directly but then I got more control after a little practise and it was quite fun. Then we had a scenario with a person that we had to save a person and place in a stretcher (this is quite heavy lifting) then sent with the scooter to the hut.

The Blue Mountain Ridge

Yesterday as we came down from the mountain I got a text with an invitation to Nesland. I am so lucky today! So Andrej left my at the crossing to Nusfjord where Tommy picked me up maybe half an hour later coming from Leknes. I also got a call from Red Cross but had no energy to join this mission which also involved a deceased person (not sure if mentally prepared for that). Anyway we went to Nesland, warmed up the kitchen, then had pizza, beer and movie. Then woke up to a beautiful day, had coffee and breakfast, packed our stuff and went to Blue Mountain. We followed this beautiful ridge and went down another place to where the road ends in Skjelfjord. 

Tønsåsheia

I have never been to this peak before and now was the time! Winter is always a bit more adventurous. It was a bit of snow and quite cold at the summit as expected. I wanted to continue further on the ridge but we decided we had to turn around at 2 pm since days are still very short and we wanted to pass the steepest sections before using headlamp just for safety.
